8. Frank Lampard- The English and Chelsea midfielder has landed into SER’s eighth place, with a great 2008 season. He is a very versatile player, with the ability to both score goals and create them. He is a well rounded player who contributes a lot to a strong Chelsea side.

7. Cesc Fabregas- Although only 21 years of age, the Spaniard already captains his Arsenal squad, and has a few national caps under his belt as well. A midfield maestro with a amazing vision and a deadly touch.

6. Iker Casillas- At 26 years old, Casillas is now considered to have edged Petr Cech and Gianluigi Buffon as the world’s number one goalkeeper. You can expect the Spaniard to come up with big saves, as he showed in the European Championships (penalty shoot-out against Italy) and with Real Madrid.

3. Fernando Torres- Although being plagued by injuries this half of the season, after an awesome first season with Liverpool, the Spaniard vaulted to superstar status. He is quick and surprisingly strong, and can be expected to turn anything into goal scoring oppurtunities.

2. Lionel Messi- At 21 years of age, the Argetinian is beginning to mature to a level equal to that of Maradonna. Messi has the ability to do the impossible with the ball at his feet, and has a high goal to game ratio.
