Chelsea vs Manchester United-
In a clash of two English Premier League titans, it was always going to be a close encounter at Stamford Bridge. The two sides did not disappoint as it was an enthralling encounter, with Manchester United running out 1-0 winners. All to play for though in the return leg at Old Trafford.
Real Madrid vs Tottenham-
With Jose Mourinho at the helm, anyone could have and did predict Los Blancos to reach this stage of the competition, but virtually no one could have predicted their opponents, Tottenham Hotspur. It was going to be a high scoring affair as both teams are attacking sides, but Real Madrid now have one foot in the semi-finals after they beat a ten man Tottenham 4-0.
Inter Milan vs Schalke-
Surprise package Schalke have struggled in the Bundesliga this season, much like Inter were before Leonardo took over the reigns at the San Siro. However, both sides have made it this far in the competition thanks to some upsets, including a replay of last year’s finals when Inter scored a goal in stoppage time to qualify at the expense of Bayern Munich. It’s safe to say that this quarter final tie was the shock of the competition as the German side won 5-2 away at the San Siro, no mean feat.
Barcelona vs Shaktar Donetsk-
Shaktar Donetsk is another dark horse in this year’s competition, but their opponents are anything but. Many are calling this Barcelona side the greatest ever assembled, with 7 of the 11 starters in the World Cup Finals last year in their ranks, plus a phenomenon named Lionel Messi leading their attack. The Blaugrana showed the Ukranian ‘minnows’ what the Champions League is about with a 5-1 drubbing at the Nou Camp. It’s beginning to look a lot like a El Classico match-up in the semi-finals, which would mean Pep Guardiola’s men will face Mourinho’s side 4 times in the space of a month; two legs in the Champions League, once in La Liga, and once in the Copa del Rey finals.

Hey Soccer Reviews,
I’m not sure if this would be accurate, but in Chelsea’s last chance against Manchester United, I thought I saw Lampard sporting the Summit White/Black/Metallic Silver Nike Total90 Laser iii’s, which I found quite interesting because he is one of the main faces of the adiPure iv series. Please double check if I’m right, as I’d be really curious to see if I am. Thanks again, viva football!
Hey Cedric,
Lampard was wearing his regular adiPure IVs. Heres a picture: http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Chelsea+v+Manchester+United+UEFA+Champions+hRCIxGWBIGSl.jpg
It would’ve been a big deal if he wasn’t.
Hope that clarifies it for you,
Isaac
Thank you for correcting my mistake. I apologize for the inconvenience, as I thought I saw Lampard when it was in fact Ivanovic.
