In the last year or so, Puma have released a number of quality boots that have propelled them back near the top of the football boot market. The latest boot Puma are set to release, the EvoSpeed, is set to drop before Euro 2012, and if the initial images and specs are anything to go by, it’s going to be a pretty special release from ‘the Cat’. Today we have images of a EvoSpeed 1 colourway that we haven’t seen before.
The Evospeed 1 will be part of Puma’s EvoSpeed campaign. Wth not only Euro 2012 in Polkraine but also the Olympics in London to look forward to, Puma have marked 2012 as a huge year for sports. At least 10 sports ranging from F1 to football will receive an EvoSpeed of their own and each will have an ambassador, which for football is Sergio Aguero. In terms of the boot itself, the Evospeed 1 looks to be an exciting new addition to the speed boot market. The colourway above features a monolayer microfiber upper, however the EvoSpeed will also be sold with a K-leather upper,
Easily the biggest new feature on the EvoSpeed 1 is the new stud configuration that takes from the best of both worlds. Featuring a mixture of conical and bladed studs, it has been designed to offer the greatest traction and acceleration possible. We must confess we’re not too sure whether the EvoSpeed will totally replace the V1 line completely or just the V1.11 SL (as we initially thought).
Other features include an external heel counter similar to the one seen on the V1.11 SL as well as Puma’s EverFit technology (currently seen on their running shoes). EverFit essentially is a support system that keeps the foot stable while allowing for some movement. Very little is known about when this colourway will be dropped, but we’re pretty sure it won’t be released along side the blue/white/red colourway in May.
Do you reckon that the EvoSpeed will replace the V1 line? Leave your answers in the section below.

looks like the tiempo elite.
Yikes. Not a nice colourway. Maybe it’s that stripe on the side, but I’m not a fan, and I usually love Puma stuff.
The blue/white/red K-leather version looks a heck of a lot better.
Looks cheap
The soleplate has taken so many design cues from the adizero sprintframe that it’s scary.
can’t wait to get one
also they look very protective
