In the recently contested final of the Norwegian Football Cup, in which Aalesunds FK were victorious over Brann, we were treated to some great boot spots including a sighting of the unreleased Umbro Speciali III Pro on the feet of Jason Morrison. Thanks to Jakob for the heads up!
We have no idea how in the world Morrison’s got his hands on a pair of unreleased, un-blacked out Speciali III Pros, but if anything, it means that the release of Umbro’s newest creations, including the new GT Pros should be relatively soon.
Onto the boots in question, the Umbro Speciali III Pros are a combination of old and news. First off, Umbro have introduced asymmetrical lacing to provide a greater strike zone, along with a return to using K-leather rather than the Kanga-Touch synthetic leather used on the Speciali R’s. Surprisingly though, from what we can tell and the specs that we have read, Umbro have scrapped their unique A-Frame Cradle design that caused the boot to hug your foot making it that much more secure and comfortable. For full specs on all of Umbro’s upcoming releases, check out this post.
Although we sighted Pepe in what believed to be a blacked out pair of Special III Pros a while ago this sighting has well and truly left us scratching our heads. Aalesunds are sponsored by Umbro and so it is more likely that Morrison was given the Speciali IIIs by Umbro themselves, rather then buying a pair off eBay or some other source as we presume Fahid al-Ibrahim had done with his CR7 Superflys.
We’ll be sure to keep a look out in the Tippeligaen for any other great spots as it seems it’s a league that we’re well and truly missing out on. What do you guys reckon the story behind this spotting is and who is your player? Leave your answers in the comment section below.

They kinda remind me of the orignal CTR’s
I’m pretty sure its Jason Morrison from Jamaica
Cheers Jungy,
I’ve updated the post to include that.
Its Jason Morrison
A friend of mine tested these for a few weeks and i got to see them, their amazing. But the boots he had they weren’t kangaroo leather, they were umbros kanga-lite.
lucas leiva has switched to tiempos. However considering the new nike plan wouldnt he have to switch back?

Umbelievable comfort. Slightly bulkier than the Speciali R, but the fit is better as it has been modified to suit the width of a players foot better than the Speciali R.
Memory Foam tongue = amazingly comfortable
They also subbed blades into the heel of the boot in place of the Speciali R’s studs. I’ve been on synthetic field-turf only so I can’t tell how they will be on a natural surface but on turf I find them almost hindering when not at peak sprint/not on toes. I suppose they’ll grip better in soft ground conditions but the Kanga-touch leather is so supple that I almost dare not expose them to the rain.
Great boot. Worth the increase in price as it provides better feel on the ball and comfort than higher priced synthetic equivalents. @wtsottawa for a pic
I love them on Jason feet.I like umbro and gives J comfort.
Love them
