Puma had a number of huge signings last calendar year, getting the likes of Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Cesc Fabregas on their books. However, despite all these new additions, we have reason to believe that Puma aren’t about to stop any time soon and have now set their sights on one of the biggest names in football right now, Mario Balotelli.
In this picture, taken while Balotelli was leaving training, the Italian, with designer boot bag in hand, was spotted with a pair of Puma V1.11s. A strange sighting simply because Balotelli normally wears the Nike CTR Maestri. The signing of Balotelli would be great business for Puma, as he already wears their logo while turning out for the Italian national team. However, could this just be another case of what we saw with Carlos Tevez?
Back in August, Tevez was spotted in a blacked out pair of Puma V1.11s, leading us to believe that he could sign on with Puma. However, fast forward to today and nothing of Carlos Tevez signing with Puma has been heard of since. Maybe Carlitos had just borrowed his compatriot Sergio Aguero’s blacked out Puma V1.11s for his warmup?
So, is it a case of Balotelli just holding onto Sergio Aguero or Yaya Toure’s boots for safe keeping? Or is he set to become Puma’s latest signing? Leave your answers in the section below. (We posed the question to our Facebook fans and this is what some of them had to say.)
