After a year of having these cleats, I’ve had many surprises, both good and bad while wearing them. I’ve yet to wear the sequel version to these, Nike’s Total 90 Laser II [affiliate], but here is what I think of this version of the cleats after approximately 365 days of wearing them.
Here’s the top aspects that appealed to me while wearing the Lasers.
- These are undoubtedly the most comfortable cleats I’ve ever owned. They have inside leather that has the greatest feel to it. That’s probably the best aspect of these shoes.
- They have a mediocre look to them compared to some other cleats. I am extremely disappointed in mine picking of the color, because I chose the exact cleats to the left, and feel like the white and black version is better looking.
- The reason I bought the shoes was the new Total 90 Strike surface. It’s a new smart idea, and I find it actually did help my lace shot and added power to my shot.
These are the downsides to these soccer cleats.
- While focusing on the lace shot, I found that the new circular 90 technology took away from the inside curving shot that the Predators focus on. Big disappointment there.
- Also, while juggling, which I extremely focus on, I found the shoes make juggling much more difficult than usual, mostly because the toe box is very firm and is not flexible at all, not allowing the proper form and angle of foot to excel at juggling.
Overall, a mediocre shoe for a player like me (midfield), however may appeal more to fowards. Overall, I would give this cleat a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars. I have my fingers crossed the Total90 Laser II [affiliate] will be better.
