Every once in a while a new brand comes around and tries to break into the highly competitive football boot market. Boombah are an American company that have just released their Matrix line of football boots, the Matrix Digital and the Matrix.
The cheaper of the two boots, the Matrix Digital, isn’t what we’d call a conservative looking boot. Featuring a “paint-splashed” design and some seriously bright colourways, these boots will most certainly stand out on pitch. The upper of the Matrix Digital is a synthetic called Ultra-Lux. Ultra-Lux is meant to lightweight and is meant to provide the wearer with a great touch. Both boots have off-centered lacing, a feature which maximizes the strike zone on the boot.
The full length TPU outsole has multi directional studs designed for quick penetration and release. While the Matrix Digital are a light boot, weighing in at 8.3 ounces, they’re still some way off the super light boots we’ve come to expect from other bigger brands.
The top of the line, Matrix, is identical to the Matrix Digital in all but the composition of the upper. The Matrix features the Ultra-Lux synthetic upper along with spongy rubber zones that are meant to be improve shot accuracy and you first touch. Because of the upper features more than just a synthetic layer, the Matrix are slightly heavier than the Matrix Digital and tip the scales at 9.1 ounces.
What are your thoughts on these two new boots and would you like us to review them? Leave your impressions in the section below. The Matrix Digital will run you $49.99 while the Matrix are $59.99, both are available on Boombah’s website.

I would like you to review them just out of curiosity for how well such a low priced boot performs.
Doesn’t look too attractive, but that price tag does!!
JOMA STUDZZ!!
Wow very bulky looking…
weird how the toe is shaped… looks almost like a dress shoe
they are ugly and suck. nothing about them looks appealing
How can you say they such when you have never worn a pair. Goodness me people, give these new companies a chance. Soccer shoes are easily some of the most difficult to construct because they are so simple. I know that sounds weird, but give these companies some time and they will eventually produce. Look at how far Under Armour have come. They are actually quality boots.
The “spongy rubber zones” on the Matrix looks interesting. I like that in addition to the instep, it covers more of the outside of the foot than what major brand control/power boots are currently doing. I haven’t seen it in any stores so am really hoping that you do a review on it.
