Three weeks into the EPL season and we’ve already hit an international break? What a rip off! At least we’ve still got the sweet, sweet boot spotting articles right?
Sergio Canales (Valencia CF) – Adidas Predator X
La Liga started up this weekend and we’ve uncovered some marvelous boot spots from arguably the most technical league in the world, including a boot spot from one of the most exciting youth propositions in Spanish football. Interestingly enough, Canales, who is on loan from Real Madrid, has gone past the hype of the AdiPower and has stuck by his old Electricity Predators. The rebirth of the Electric Predator has been a huge hit with players and fans alike, plus it’s refreshing to see such a bright Predator being released.
Oleg Samsonov (FC Krasnodar) – Puma V1.06
Soccer Reviews has even gone through the Russian League to ensure we get only the finest boot spots for our readers! And this one is a real retro boot spot. Released around the 2006 World Cup, it was actually Puma’s lighest boot to date when it was released and it must be an old favourite with Samsonov.
Guaita (Valencia CF) – Uhlsport Torkralle
After giving Uhlsport their moment in the sun last week after we spotted Swansea keeper Vorm wearing their boots, we decided to find another player endorsing their brand! We didn’t have to look far, but Valencia keeper Guaita also wears the German brand’s boots. We wonder if anyone besides keepers wear Uhlsports boots.
J0han Djourou (Arsenal) – Puma PowerCat 1.10
The PowerCat range has certainly been hanging around for a long time and has gone through plenty of colourway changes. The Elektro colourway is certainly one of the brighter colours that we’ve seen and not many players have endorsed the boot. Djourou is one of those players and it’s actually a decent match with Arsenal’s away kit.
Christian Maggio (Napoli) – Lotto Zhero Gravity
Fabulous effort Maggio! Fortunately for him, it went in! The world’s only laceless football boot really doesn’t get as much exposure as it probably deserves. Maggio is making sure the Italian company gets a little more exposure on the world stage.
Harry O’Brien (Collingwood) – Adidas AdiPure IV (Custom)
Okay, so maybe it’s the wrong sport, but it certainly deserves a mention! A hugely popular sport in Australia, ‘Harry O’ has worn several different customised boots this year and this has been the first time we’ve had a good photo of his boots. Pity he plays for a trash team with a feral set of fans.
Kevin Nolan (West Ham) – Puma King
Even though he was ripping it up in the Premier League, Kevin Nolan’s much publicised move to Championship outfit West Ham is a part of the Hammers’ new rebuilding process. We couldn’t imagine Nolan wearing overly bright boots, so the Puma King is probably a great match for the attacking midfielder.
Lorenzo Insigne (Pescara Calcio) – Adidas AdiZero synthetics
Every professional seems to be wearing either leather AdiZeros or their lighter AdiZero Prime relative. Very few professionals have opted for the regular synthetics, especially after the Primes were released. We aren’t too sure why, but Insigne has decided to avoud the Primes and has gone for the non-Prime editions of the synthetic boot.
Niko Kranjcar (Tottenham Hotspur) – Adidas Predator X
It’s been a little while since a Champions League edition of a boot has been released, and Kranjcar is still sticking with the last Champions League edition of the Predators that were released. We actually believe that a new one will be released in the next month or so, so hang around for that!
Javier Paredes (Real Zaragoza) – Under Armour Hydrastrike Pro
The American baselayer company has made an aggressive move into the football boot market, launching three seperate boot silos. The UA Hydrastrike is made of two different uppers, a microfiber upper as well as K-Leather up near the toe of the boot. While very few pros wear the UA range, we’ve been trying our best to get a pair to review ourselves!
Juan Pablo Angel (Chivas USA) – Adidas AdiZero Prime
And finally, Angel obviously didn’t think that the Warning AdiZero Primes are bright enough, as he has opted to replace the Kevlar laces of the original AdiZero Primes with some very bright fluro green laces!
That caps off this week’s edition of boot spotting. What do you think of the boot spots above? Tell us your favourites below!

BENZEMAAAAAAAAAAAA!
love harry o’brien, hate his club. Bombers all the way!
Hey Pat,
Good boy. I don’t think the Collingwood fans can comment about your article, they can’t do it until they are all on day parole.
Nice job with the Hydrastrike, I was just about to send it in.
Well, it’s not the first thing you’ve ever sent in
what boots was xavi wearing in the game vs porto.
The black/silver/blue adipowers
adipower predator SL’s
@Angelbootspot The adizero prime Warning comes with the bright cactus lace.
I think there’s already some of the new adizeros circulating, or they could be fake.
