It promised to be a great day of football around the world on Saturday and as always we were treated to some great and unusual boot spots! SR are the first on the web to bring them to you so sit back and enjoy as we take you around Europe and across the pond. (Also, keep reading till the end to see a spotting of the adiPower Predators being tested.)
Marcelo Silva (Almeria) – Joma Total Fit
Forget about Messi, what we’re looking at in this picture is the unique boot choice of Marcelo Silva. We hardly ever seen Jomas being worn and so this is a rather unique boot spot. The total fits are made out of one piece of K Leather, meaning they offer extreme comfort.
Samuel Eto’o (Inter Milan) – Puma v1.10 SL
Samuel Eto’o switched back into the blue Puma v1.10 SLs after sporting the Usain Bolt inspired pair against Schalke in the Champions League.
David Tsoyarev (FC Kuban Krasnador) – adiZero (?)
The Russian league always offers some great boot spots, and we’ve found another one here. We’ve been speculating about this one and think it could be a pair of white out adiZeros but we’re not 100% sure so we’ll leave it up to you guys.
Yossi Benayoun (Chelsea) – Nike Mercurial Superfly
We haven’t seen Yossi Benayoun for a while, and in that time it looks like he hasn’t changed his boot preference. Despite the release of the new Superfly IIIs, Benayoun stuck with an oldie in the form of the originals.
Santiago Acasiete (Almeria) – Adidas World Cup (?)
Here’s another one that we’re not sure about. The fold over tongue suggests an old pair of adidas boots so we think that they are World Cups, but the black out is what’s throwing us off. Yet another one we’ll leave to you guys to decide.
Jalil Anibaba (Chicago Fire) – Nike Tiempo Legend III
Jalil Anibaba has seriously pimped out his Nike Tiempo Legends! It looks like he’s cut of the tongue, coloured the swoosh red and used a pair of Nike Lace Up To Save Lives laces. One things for sure though, they look great!
John O’Shea (Man Utd) – Concave PT+
Many people have been wondering if John O’Shea has kept with Concaves despite the company falling into bankruptcy and it seems he has.
Robbie Russell (Real Salt Lake) – Adidas Predator Powerswerve
Robbie Russell, the Real Salt Lake right back was spotted in an old pair of adidas Predator Powerswerve in his side’s match against the New England Revolution. Many professionals still prefer the Powerswerves over the new Predator Xs.
Steed Malbranque (Sunderland) – Adidas Predator Powerswerve
Steed Malbranque is one of the last footballers in the Premier League that we know of still wearing these old Predators. It’ll be interesting to see if he switches into the adiPowers.
Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich) – adiPure IV Hybrid
Schweinsteiger is a man of mystery when it comes to his boots, and he’s gone and confused everyone again with these ones. They look like a pair of adiPure SLs but in an adiPure IV colourway.
Lucio and Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan) – adiPower Predators (Thanks to Hajdar!)
Cambiasso and Lucio spotted here with white out adiPower Predators, their release should be coming out soon and personally we can wait!
That’s it for this weekend’s boot spotting. What do you think those two players are wearing? If you have any cool bootspots that you’d like to tell us about just send an email to [email protected] and we’ll be sure to post about it!

Good Stuff
awesome spottings
Did anyone spot Valencia during the ManU game? He seem to be wearing the adiPower Predators as well.
Hey Bryan,
Valencia was in his normal blacked out adiZeros, heres a picture . You can see the three adidas lines if you look closely.
Isaac
Great bootspotting.. It would be also interesting to see if pros use the nike sense stud or if they still avoid it?
David Tsoyarev is wearing a White-out adizero, as you mention, but it’s not to hide it. It is a colorway adidas released with the leather blackout boots, with the orange studs
Hey Santiago Acasiete is actually wearing a pair of Adidas World Cups, but he tore the three stripes off of the boots to make them look blacked out
