Thanks to Christian J we’ve got a hold of some images of the luckiest U-17 team in the world, F.C. Copenhagen, training in Nike’s latest boots, including the new Mercurial Vapor.
These pictures, all of which belong to UniSport seem to shed light on what Nike are planning on releasing in a couple of days. If the U-17s of FCK have recieved their new boots, we can only assume that a whole host of other clubs and players around Europe and the world have too.
The orange release colourway of the latest Mercurial Vapor, the VIII, stood out from the rest of the boots on show at Nummer 10, Copenhagen’s training ground simply because they are so flashy! The predominantly orange boot also has the black Nike swoosh on the instep as well as the forefoot, as well as a blue and yellow design at the heel.
Arguably the most notable new feature on the Mercurial Vapor VIII is the redesigned sole plate. Nike have scrapped the carbon fibre outsole that was seen on the Superfly (the Superfly has now been dropped) and have instead used glass fibre. Two predominant features seen on the Superfly, the Sensestuds and Flywire have also been dropped in the completely redesigned Vapor. The new studs boast direct injected TPU for greater acceleration while the two studs at the heel of the boot are for ‘optimal penetration and stability’. While this will be the primary release colourway, Nike will also release a less flashy white/blue Vapor.
The Mercurial Vapor VIII wasn’t the only boot on show, as new Tiempo IV, CTR 360 and Laser IV colourways were all spotted on the pitch. While we were under the impression that the elite line is going to be phased out in 2012, it seems that Nike have still been producing elite Tiempos and CTRs. This green/white colourway is one of the best that has been released so far, and continues what has been a run of great looking Tiempo colour schemes.
A new great looking CTR Maestri II Elite was also on show. This colourway, that looks perfect for the Holland kit, is also extremely sharp and will surely have a whole host of admirers. The tiny bit of orange on the boot really goes a long way and makes an otherwise plain colourway great!
Finally, this blue/grey Laser IV was spotted. It’s a colourway that a lot of our readers have fallen in love with and as with all of the new colourways that will be released soon, it’s another solid effort from Nike.
Well that seems to be what you can expect to see released from Nike in the next couple of days. The big question for us is: will Nike still be selling elite versions of both the Tiempo and CTR or were these sightings a one off? Leave your answers and impressions of Nike’s latest boots in the comment section below.

Just something a little extra…
Cristiano Ronaldo spotted in the new Vapors while shooting an ad with Rafael Nadal.

In the VDO, I don’t think that’s CR surely!
Great spotting! But the video isn’t of Ronaldo, I think
vapor is great
How are u17s sponsored by nike….?
you can bearly tell of the swoosh on the forefoot. maybe couse its smaller. instep is nice though
how long does it usually take for new boots to be put up for customization on nikeid? i dont know how much i like these colorways and may want to customize them.
The laser IV are actually kanga-lite so i dont know the synthetic color way
That new T90 colorway is stunning!
The new nike silo plan is failing in my mind already. I cant possibly think of buying a good looking but unless it is out of my position. Now it is harder appreciating them knowing I wont wear them! …..tiempos are class!
oh heck yes
That silo position plan I heard got scratched by Nike….. But man those are all great looking colorways….. Except for the CTRs…. Exactly like the ones released last year
yea why the hell would they realease ctr’s with the exact same colorway, but just replacing the red strip with orange??? i think the kid just went over it with some orange highlighter lol
Yeah those ctrs look like the black white red ones
Nike took the Big swoosh from the Vapor 4′s forefoot and put it in the instep and took the small swoosh on the vapor 4′s instep and put it on the forefoot of the vapor 8. and WALA! a new boot. nice.
for vapors, i think the bigger swoosh should be on the forefoot..instep should be smaller..my opinion as far as looks..
does anyone know how much the vapors will be???
mv8 will be $220 pretty sure
