Fernando Torres In Shock Tiempo Boot Switch?

He is one of the two main faces behind the Nike T90 Laser IV range, but Chelsea striker Fernando Torres today made arguably the most surprising boot switch we have seen all year, appearing in a whiteout Tiempo Legend IV during his side’s game against Stoke.

While Wayne Rooney may be the face behind the T90 Laser IV, Fernando Torres is arguably the second biggest T90 endorser promoted by Nike. The Spaniard has appeared alongside Rooney for the launch of the T90 Laser and in several advertisements for Nike ‘accuracy’ boot. However, Torres has taken many by surprise in wearing a whiteout version of the Nike Tiempo Legend IV against Stoke.

Just like Rooney, Torres has not been overly quick in updating the boots he wears. Just last week, Torres was still wearing the White/Green T90 Laser IV from the EUROs, while he wore the White/Orange/Black T90 Laser IV launch colour way at the close of last season. Neither of the players have been seen in either the new Bright Crimson/Dark Obsidian colour way or the just passed Black/Orange/Blue colour way. Torres is known to be a massive fan of predominantly white football boots, but we did not expect the Spaniard to be so extreme in wearing a customised all white pair of Tiempo Legend IVs.

Soccer Reviews will be keeping an eye on the situation, but we have a feeling that this might be a one week fling from Torres. Do you think Torres will be switching to the Tiempo on a permanent basis? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

Isn’t he also known to be a fan of white LEATHER boots? could be more than just a week.

Or it could be that hes got some foot injury that needs a more forgiving/protecting boot. who knows.

  2. nazirul

maybe he switch with ivanovic bcause ivanovic wears green/white t90..

  3. hamish

Probably doesnt like the new colourway for the t90s

  4. GT

No surprise, last season or two ago he switched to the white blue legend III’s but just for training. He might just like leather more than kanga-lite because those are legend elites.

  5. Jose Reyes

I think this could be a permanent move. I know he wears Tiempos for training, but why go through the trouble of getting customized one’s just for training? I think he may be switching.

He’s also a fan of the traditional 6-stud sole plate, just like Rooney. He has been spotted training in white tiempos in the past and he has always snubbed the different colors of lasers. Just like the switch to his favored white/silver/red leather lasers over the dark brown/white/blue versions in 2008. Hopefully it’s a permanent switch.
