As the boot of choice of some of the best players in the world, and arguably the best player in the world Lionel Messi, my excitement when I received the adidas F50 adiZero MiCoach was justified.
The first adiZero leathers are my favorite boots that I’ve worn to date, so coming into this review I have big expectations. Unlike usual First Impressions posts, I thought I would give you a slightly more detailed post for those of you who are thinking of buying the MiCoach F50 before Christmas. Here’s how it went.
Opening up the box, I was greeted by a spectacular looking pair of boots. I had never really been a fan of the colorway before but seeing them in person really makes a difference. They look fantastic out of the box, and the rest of the Soccer Reviews team agrees with me on that one! When taking them out of the box the first thing that I noticed was how soft the leather on the toe area was. It’s 100 times softer than the leather on the previous adiZero which I believe is due to the new stitching pattern they have used.
Currently, I have worn the adiZero three times, twice in practice and once in a game. Without giving too much away, it’s all been positive so far. One thing I will tell you is that they are extremely comfortable and you can wear them straight out of the box with no problems. Another thing I’m a fan of is that they make you feel confident when wearing them on the pitch which indirectly helps improve your game (placebo effect anyone?). This will be elaborated on in the review which should be out in two weeks’ time.
Hopefully we can get our hands on a miCoach chip as well so we can give you a review on that technology.

Its great to see SoccerReviews help out Ronald McDonald pick his new shoes!!!! lol
i have been telling all the haters that this colorway WILL LOOK BETTER IN PERSON… no one believed me… until now!
Yeah right…
I hate how Nike have received stick for not changing the superfly 2 to 3, yet adidas has not changed the adizero since it first came in…
Adidas have hit on a winning formula with the adizero, and they have made slightly minor adjustments to it where as nike havnt changed anything about the boot, they just revamped the paint job (like what adidas did when they released the primes)
Fully agree with Xavier Scott!! The formula between the 2010 adiZero and this 1 remains the same but so many things have changed. The upper is a different construction, sprintweb has been added to imrpove medial/lateral support and the heel collar of the upper has changed to have a better fit…not to mention miCoach! Nike have been living off the same boot for 3 years now! As for the Ronald McDonal comments…they’re getting a little old now! I had my doubts when I first saw pictures but in person they’re so much better..it’s less yellow and more neon coloured! Love them!
Actually. Nike did make improvements, you just didn’t notice them. They lowered the toe box and increased the angle on the boot to create a more “track spike” feel when sprinting.
Hey Nick,
Adidas have in-fact changed this adiZero model a lot compared to the previous models. Insider_11 already gave a great description so I won’t add onto that!
It seems like Nike won’t receive as much stick when their new mercurial line comes out though!
I just got mine today the black/orange version and the sintetic ones. I havent got a chance to wore them on a field but i will soon. They look amazing.
yeahhh they do look much more appealing when in person but personally i’m waiting for some other cws to come along so that i just don’t regret buyin ‘em….but anyway a great boot!!!
