Following on from our TruSox review, we have been sent a pair of compression socks by the guys over at Zensah. Worn by many players, Zensah Compression is renowned for it’s benefits to the body after intense exercise, and we’re interested to see whether these claims stack up.
The socks came in a professional looking box along with some leaflets detailing what the socks do. Feeling them in your hands, the material is really very pleasant. It feels like a professional product. From the reinforced toe and heel area, through to the ridged calf area, it all feels very well-made.. Something that’s extremely important in making sure you have a positive first impression.
Putting the socks on, they’re a very tight fit. I received a size Small in the socks for a tight fit, so I guess it was to be expected. They feel super comfortable when put on, and it’ll be interesting to see how they feel when running about. However, I must add that I feel these socks will most likely become the standard pair of socks I wear when playing in game.
This tight fit is definitely noticeable when you take them back off. It’s a funny feeling, but having them on makes your calf feel more supported.. Which I’m delighted about as that’s exactly what compression garments are supposed to feel like. I’ve been an avid wearer of the Nike Compression socks for some time now, but I really feel the Zensah Compression socks better them in almost every aspect.
As already mentioned, they feel like a thoroughly professional product. The design is top notch and the comfort is right up there. From first impressions, they seem like a must-purchase.. But it’d be unreasonable to make that claim without thoroughly testing them first. One little thing I’d like to point out is that Zensah encourage you to wear these while you sleep to help enhance recovery. It’s definitely something I’m eager to try.
With pre-season just around the corner, these socks will be getting some very thorough testing in the near future. I aim to have the full review up in 2-3 weeks..
