Eyebrow raising colorways came in the form of the Red Hot Chili Pepper (good band!) and Blazing Yellow V1.10′s. Then Puma hit back in the new year with much subtler colorways, including a K-Leather version of the soccer shoe. Now they are at it once again with two more colorways for their speed boot, the V1.10.

With the release of the Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II having already occurred and the inevitable unveiling of the Adidas F50 Adizero, Puma need to stake out their claims in the speed market if they intend to keep up with the ‘big boys’. Part of their staking out is the wide variety of colorways the Puma V1.10 offers. They have added to its ever growing collection of colorways with two new ones which compliment one another. With Samuel E’to on red hot form, they hope these new colorways will help keep his goal scoring run alive. On the other side of the spectrum, Peter Crouch and Nicholas Anelka have had droughts in the goalscoring department, and the two will be praying these new colorways help them start putting the ball in the back of the net once again. If you had troubles accepting any of the five previous colorways (many people did), this may be your cup of tea. Not nearly as visible as the pioneer colorways of the cleat, this one still is noticeable on the pitch. It looks sleek and modern and is one of the few colorways in the world that employs a predominantly silver upper.

Puma has gone back to the basics once again with this particular cleat. To the added satisfaction of classic boot lovers, Puma has released its second K-Leather incarnation of the V1.10. This dark colorway is by far the favorite in the SER backroom, both due to the brilliant colorway and of course its being made of K-Leather. Puma were also able to keep the same weight in this Kangaroo Leather version as the Micro-Fiber upper with a solid 8.2 oz!

Upper

Microfiber (Royal/PUMA Silver/Black)-The v1.10 has a lightweight microfiber and textile upper with a softer toe area for a better touch on the ball. It also has a dirt and water repellent coating.

K-Leather (K-Leather Black/White/PUMA Royal)- UPPER: Soft, extremely comfortable kangaroo leather with grip texture and a lace cover. “Kinte” pattern is inspired by African soccer. TPU injected external heel counter offers heel stability and support.

Outsole

Microfiber- PUMA’s new lace cover offers up clean kicking and larger ball contact area, while an air mesh insert on the tongues lets your feet breathe. Extremely lightweight Carbon Fiber in the forefoot distributes pressure and creates flexibility. Translation – this boot is made to fly down the field. The midfoot is reinforced with TPU, which prevents midfoot bending and further enhances stability. A TPU injected external heel counter offers heel support. The lightweight Pebax outsole is transparent in the midfoot and heel for eye-catching style. Pointed stud design ensures easy ground penetration for optimal traction, maneuverability and stability.
