Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII SG Pro Unboxing

We know the recently released Mercurial Vapor VIII is a lot different to it’s predecessor, but Nike only released one colour way until they updated the boot, albeit a minor update. The new leather-like finish on the Mercurial Vapor VIII is said to give you the same exquisite feel of the ball from the Bright Mango Vapor VIII, but with supposedly better durability. But how much different is it? That is a question we want answered, which is why we got our hands on the new ‘Clash’ Vapor VIII.

Perhaps one new update to the Vapor VIII that has been overlooked is the new SG stud configuration option. Dubbed the ‘Pro’ stud configuration by Nike, the combination of SG and FG studs is much like what professionals have been sporting on their customised boots for ages, with the option finally available to consumers. We will definitely be investigating the effectiveness of Nike’s new stud configuration over the old, conventional metal stud option.

There are several differences between the old Bright Mango Vapor that we reviewed a few months ago and the new ‘Clash’ Vapor we just received, and we want to see the real difference between the two releases in this comprehensive, in-depth review of the boot. Expect a First Impressions piece on the boot up in the next week or so, with the full review in about 3-4 weeks time.
