[tab:Nike Total90 Laser III New Colorways]
Just when we all thought Nike had gone asleep, the American sportswear brand has released new colorways for many of their football boots in just one weekend!
With recent criticism coming out about their lack of colorways to compliment (or replace-your pick!) the original two colorways for the Total 90 Laser III as well as other of their soccer shoes, Nike have hit back and have released over 5 new colorways for their different collections. Two of these are for the Power line, the Total 90 we all know and love. Now with a number of colorways and options of upper material, Nike may not only be widening their choices for the Lasers, they may be widening the fan base for them as well! You can see our in-depth review of the Nike Total 90 Laser III right here. After reading the review, you can purchase the cleats for a great price over at SOCCER.COM
Spec (for both):
Nike designers broke down the biomechanics of striking the ball into specific elements to help them design the ultimate boot for power and accuracy-
Five pods in the strike zone create a uniform contact point for a smoother surface resulting in even pressure distribution. The pods are configured as five separate units that operate as one to remain flexible and fluid.
Advanced shape-correcting memory foam provides a smooth and consistent surface to enhance accuracy when shooting.
Engineered Microfins, ie. small raised TPU fins on a honeycomb panel deliver increased friction with the ball to ensure more swerve. Each small fin is strategically angled and sized to enhance control over ball trajectory, but folds on contact with the ball to accommodate great touch and feel.
The laces have been repositioned to be more asymmetrical for a cleaner strike surface and easier fit and adjustment of the boot.
Reinforcements to the external heel counter and outsole ensure comfort and stability.
UPPER: Premium kangaroo leather and synthetic leather for comfort and touch. MIDSOLE: Molded EVA with poron insert that reduces stud pressure. OUTSOLE: Lightweight TPU with optimal stud placement for stability and traction.
[tab:Neptune Blue/Vibrant Yellow]
This Neptune Blue/Vibrant Yellow colorway isn’t the least bit dull, however it hasn’t caused nearly as many waves as the Electric Green version did with boot purists and Laser devotees. Debuted by dozens of players across the globe this weekend, not the least one being Wayne Rooney who scored a vital goal in Manchester United’s huge clash with rivals Liverpool, the cleat has turned out to be an instant classic. Just like the Nike Mercurial Vapor IV Orange colorway which we all were ashamed to admit was a beautiful colorway, we all secretly find this clash of Blue and Yellow to be awesome (if you’re not at agreement with me, please comment otherwise we’ll never know what you were thinking- FYI, you can comment even if you do like the colorway)!

[tab:K-FG - Black/Challenge Red/Metallic]
The second of the two new colorways is a kangaroo leather version of the soccer shoe, meant to appease you classic cleat lovers, and to top it off, it’s the first black colorway implemented to the Nike Total 90 Laser III! Debuted by Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra in the clash vs Liverpool, these boots look fantastic on the pitch! While not as stunning as the Neptune Blue/Vibrant Yellow colorway, it certainly does stand out with the Red pods and Metallic fins. With this particular version of the football boot, you have to sacrifice weight reduction for extra comfort and touch. With an extra 1.6 oz, you get top quality kangaroo leather meant to keep your feet comfy for the full 90 minutes. While we do know the comfort level of the synthetic version of the cleat from our testing, we’re not sure how much more comfortable this kangaroo leather version is.
