Getting ready for the upcoming winter season, Nike is developing new soccer cleats with the goal to rock the cleat market off its feet. The name of their newest soccer cleat? The Tiempo Super Ligera. It is an add on to the successful Nike Tiempo collection, however, Nike is keeping a tight lid on the media about their upcoming cleat. It is due for release in November, however, information was leaked about the cleat, and here is what Soccer Equipment Reviews know for sure about the Super Ligera cleat.
Nike set out to develop a lighter Tiempo cleat, and with the coming of the Super Ligera cleat, they did just that. The cleat is much lighter than its predecessor, with it weighing 25% lighter than the Nike Tiempo. Before, the weight of the Tiempo kind of threw me off the cleat, because I enjoy lightweight cleats, and now, it is a light cleat, however, Nike claim it is still as durable as the Nike Tiempo.
Nike have also revamped the look of the cleat, mixing the Ronaldinho Dois‘ look with the Tiempos’. It is a very classic, ‘olden day’ cleat, which I believe is equivalent of Adidas’ Adipure. It was designed to attract classic cleat lovers, and others who take comfort and quality, over style and weight. The cleat has a soft edge to it, which I personally do not like very much, that is probably the most classic look Nike has ever developed with a modern day cleat.
With stores trying to stock up on the Super Ligera before its release date, we all have a lot to look forward to with Nike‘s new cleat.
