Pele Sports 1970 Amazon

While the recent release of the Trinity may have overshadowed the brand’s other three heritage boots, Pele Sports have just released a bright new colourway for their top heritage boot, the Pele Sports 1970.

Pele Sports have gone all tropical on us with this latest Amazon green colourway.  The main selling point of the 1970 is its one piece kangaroo leather upper. The leather undergoes 150 separate processing steps. Hi-tech polymer treatments provide permanent water resistance, but preserve breathability.

A permanent branding process prevents fading and keeps the K-leather color-fast meaning that you won’t lose any of that bright green colour. A secondary tanning process protects against sweat damage as well as  a friction enhancing treatment embedded within the fiber structure of the leather.
The dual-density compression molded midsole absorbs shock and keeps the foot more comfortable for the full 90 minutes. The midsole is firmer on the outside for acceleration and softer on the inside for impact absorption. The midsole is also ramped 5mm in the heel for Achilles tendon support. Furthermore, there is a removable, full-length Poron urethane footbed which features a Poron pad beneath the heel.
We reviewed the 1970 way back in October 2010 and found that while they were one of the most comfortable boots on the market, they were a little bit on the heavy side weighing in at 11.7 ounces.
