Stars Unveil Unreleased Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly III and CTR360 Maestri II Colorways

The internet has only really been around for around 15 years. Modern football boots were arguably ‘birthed’ around the same time. Now, with social media networks such as Twitter and Facebook, the two modern day phenomena meet as players unveil their unreleased Nike football colorways!

Ryan Babel, the Hoffenheim striker and Netherlands striker, tweeted about his new Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly III football boots, and us boot fans were surprised when we saw a high quality picture of the unreleased Purple/Violet Superfly III colorway! After seeing this images though, this has to be one of the range’s top colorways yet, joining a number of prior colorways, including the especially bright Volt along with the Granite colorways.

The release of this colorway is right around the color, as Itay Shechter of FC Kaiserslautern debuted the new Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly III in a Bundesliga match last weekend.

In probably an even more surprising ‘Tweetlease’ (that’s our own term there!), Arsenal youngster Martin Yves Angha showed us an image of his new customized Nike CTR360 Maestri II Elites… in a colorway we hadn’t seen yet. Obviously taking inspiration from the hugely successful obsidian blue colorway for the first edition, this new CTR360 Maestri II color scheme features a bit of vibrant orange as well.

The young Gunner is clearly loving his new boots as his tweets so fully demonstrate.

But how about you? What do you think of these new colorways? And also, should players be allowed to post about their unreleased boots on social media networks? Leave a comment below.

does anyone realise more players are now opting for elite(carbon fibre) soleplates? Has Nike solved the problem of carbon fibre soleplates being too stiff?
