Steven Gerrard Debuts Unreleased adidas Predator LZ UCL Colorway

Although he is not and will not be competing in the UEFA Champions League this season, Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard was the second player we’ve seen to wear the unreleased adidas Predator LZ UCL Colorway for the 2012/13 season as he gave the boots his own personal debut as the Reds took on Hearts from Scotland in the Europa League.

Despite not having as much impact on the game as he would have liked, Gerrard captained the side to victory as they scraped a 1-1 draw that put them though to the next stage of the competition on aggregate and did so in a new pair of boots. The Black/Yellow adidas Predator LZ colorway he sported last night will serve as the UEFA Champions League colorway for the upcoming season, and is set to be released this month. Stay tuned to Soccer Reviews as we officially unveil the new colorway in the next few days!

Gerrard is not actually the first professional to wear them as that title goes to Gustavo Manduca of APOEL from Cyprus who debuted them at the end of June. Nor will he be the last marquee player (no disrespect to Manduca!) to do so either as you can expect to see this colorway replace the ever present Blue/Infrared launch colorway that have dominated pitches around the globe since the boots’ release.

Soccer Reviews’ in-depth adidas Predator LZ review rates the control/power hybrid boot very highly, and if you want more information, go check out the review!
