As the final hours of the transfer window approach, clubs around the globe look to fit in some last minute signings as a way to strengthen depleted squads. While Manchester City may not exactly fit in the ‘desperate’ category, they are still always looking for ways to add to their squad of superstars. Mancini, with an immense transfer budget at his hands, has already brought in many quality players in the past year and the Italian seems keen on bringing one final man in before the window closes.
The man in question is none other than failed United midfielder Owen Hargreaves who first came to Manchester in 2007 from German giants Bayern Munich. Injury troubles kept the Englishman from reaching his full potential at the club and after 4 troubled seasons, he was finally released from the club.
Hargreaves’ United career ended up in such a mess that the 30 year old even asked to play for free in a last ditch attempt to resurrect his old form.
“At one stage I did offer to play for nothing this season, just to stay on, but they said, ‘You don’t want to do that’ and they were probably right’.
Manchester City’s season has been marvelous and trouble-free so far with the squad facing no issues in terms of availability, but with Toure Yaya off to his home country during December, Roberto Mancini will need a temporary replacement and it looks as though Owen can be just that.
Pictures spotted the midfielder leaving a hospital near the City grounds, suggesting that he recently traveled there to complete a medical. It has yet to be determined whether or not these assumptions are in fact true, but one solid fact remains: a move across Manchester for Owen Hargreaves would only heat up the intense rivalry already in place between the two clubs.
With both sides showing real promise this season, supporters from either side can expect the build up to October 23rd (the upcoming derby) to be nothing less than glorious and memorable.

For the love of god, no!
As much as I wish him all the best for his future playing career, I don’t want to seem him in a City shirt.
if he goes to city, then it looks like no game time
He has great skill (or at least did have) but he won’t get many games for Man City… He should go down to a lower club or even lower division to get back to what he used to be.
