An over sized soccer cleat. A gigantic football boot. Some even call it a hot dog (it’s yellow, so I’ll never understand why?). But at SER, we call it the Golden Boot!
In preparation for our trip to South Africa, the SER Team brainstormed an idea to get us on TV during the World Cup. We thought of everything it seemed, but none of the ideas really felt right or original. That is until our webmaster, Derek, thought of the idea of dressing up as a football boot/soccer cleat. Seeing as we know one of the operators of Disneyland HK, we asked him about where Disney have their costumes made. He told us, and we rushed over with the idea. We were promised the costume would be done a few hours before our departure to South Africa, and we were in for a surprise at pick-up. The costume looked fabulous! I can’t really describe it, so pictures will have to suffice. With that being said, we traveled to Johannesburg with our cleat in tow.
I will now regularly post the activities of the football boot, which we have dubbed the Golden Boot (designed after the Adidas Adipure). If there are any suggestions of a better name, please let us know and we will definitely consider the options! Pictures galore will be what the Golden Boot Chronicles are all about!

Isn’t it illegal to have SER being marketed at the WC?

Hey Isaac,
Good spot, and yes it is illegal to advertise inside the stadiums. So, both inside and outside of the stadiums we cover up our logos with the flags of the teams playing, and seeing as it is an Adidas boot, we’ve thankfully been allowed to wear it like that to the matches!
Very cool soccer cleat outfit, love the picture from Derek’s Facebook
