The Puma Para Mexico Lite is easily my favourite ‘Japan only’ boot on the market at the moment. A super classy, lightweight leather boot makes me wish that Puma would release it worldwide. Today we have images of the Puma Para Mexico Lite 2012, the latest incarnation of the ever intriguing boot.
This was a much needed release as the last Para Mexico’s were released about two years ago, however, by the looks of it not much has really changed (which may not necessarily be a bad thing!). Featuring a mixed leather upper with K-leather at the forefoot and artificial leather towards the back of the boot, the one downside for some may be the wider than normal forefoot.
As these are a size 7 US they weigh slightly less than the typical size 9 but regardless the Para Mexico Lite are, as their name suggests, light.
191 grams is definitely light for any football boot, not to mention a leather football boot, add a little bit of weight if you have a larger foot and you’re still looking at a boot that weighs around 200 grams.
Of course, as with all boots made for the Japanese market, the Para Mexico’s have a unique HG soleplate designed with the unique nature of Japanese pitches in mind. The TPU outsole is also equipped with ARCHTEC technology which is meant to provide support.
Here’s another rather interesting looking coloruway slated to be released in the near future.
