Having already been the first to give you a look into Umbro’s new GT Pro soccer cleat, SER wanted to give you a closer look into the English company’s new speed boot!
Ever since Nike’s takeover of Umbro, the British brand has been rejuvenated and is making much better football boots then they were doing before! With a successful ‘resurrection’ of the company and its footwear, it really looks like Nike’s influence has turned Umbro around in 180 degrees (in a good way)! The Umbro Speciali blew us away in our review, and the same happened with the Stealth Pro! Now we wonder if Umbro have kept up the good work with their latest venture, the GT Pro.
The Umbro GT Pro is Umbro’s lightest cleat ever, and weighing in at a very respectable 8.3 oz, the GT Pro isn’t competing with the Adidas F50 Adizero or the Puma V 1.10 SL in terms of weight, but it certainly is in the ballpark with the Nike Mercurial Vapor VI and Superfly II, as well as the Puma V1.10! One thing they don’t compete with those speed boots is price… they absolutely destroy them in that category! Weighing only .5 oz more than the Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II, they are $270 USD cheaper! We’ve also heard from our contact in Umbro that, quote, “I think you will like these, as in my opinion they are the best we have ever made!” We certainly hope so, and you will be able to see whether or not this statement is true, in our upcoming review of the Umbro GT Pro.
