Goalkeeper gloves are often overshadowed by the latest football boots and apparel as demonstrated by us not even including gloves in our what to add to your bags this preseason, so to make it up to those of you that noticed, we now have all the information on Umbro’s latest goalkeeper gloves.
Umbro have released their new gloves which will be worn by England and Manchester City number 1 Joe Hart as well as Team GB keeper, Jack Butland who looks set for a switch to Manchester City after promising performances in the Olympics.
Crafted from a lightweight, tight fitting neoprene fabric, the Neo Pro gloves also feature a breathable structured mesh fabric on the fingers, keeping a goalkeeper’s most important assets comfortable in all conditions.
The DPS in the Neo Pro gloves stands for Digit Protection System, an additional layer of rigid protection for your fingers inserted into the main body of the gloves. With a structured punch-zone on the back of the gloves adding extra protection and increased distance for your clearances, the Neo Pro gloves also feature an extended palm zone which makes it easier for keepers to gather the ball and then turn defence into attack as quickly as possible.
Joe Hart will be looking to literally defend Manchester City’s title as the English Premier League kicks off this weekend and will do so in this classy white and royal blue colorway. The trend seems to be to create fluorescent gloves so it’s nice to see a more toned down pair of gloves from Umbro.
