Just weeks ago, the fierce battle for Robin Van Persie’s signature was reaching its climax as some of Europe’s biggest clubs began increasing their offers already worth tens of millions of pounds. But now, much to Arsene Wenger’s relief, the excitement has disappeared, leaving behind just one suitor: Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson has already missed out on a number of potential buys this summer, including Moura and Hazard, leaving him frustrated and disappointed. But, as the Manchester United boss revealed, there’s still one more player that the Red Devils have yet to miss out on, and Ferguson appears ready to do everything he can to make sure United land their final target.
“We have made a bid and they’ve been trying to negotiate with other clubs. I don’t have a gut feeling on it at the moment, I must admit. We’re not getting any breakthrough with Arsenal.”
“It’s difficult to say why they’re operating this way. I don’t know what their thoughts are because they’re not giving anything away.”
Sir Alex says that despite Wenger’s ‘difficult’ attitude, Manchester United will continue to fight for the signature of Robin Van Persie.
“We just have to persevere. We are trying our best and hopefully it will come our way but there’s no progress at this moment in time.”
Robin’s previous suitors have apparently come to the conclusion that Arsenal’s brilliant 29-year-old just isn’t worth it. Roberto Mancini has confirmed that he and his staff have finally grown tired of fighting with Wenger over the Dutchman, while sources at Juventus say I Bianconeri have decided to pursue other projects.
Arsenal’s stubborn manager seems determined to hold on to his prized player, but with Robin’s window of escape closing fast, Wenger may be left with no choice but to fold and bid his captain farewell.

why dafuq iz arsane wanker doing this to rvp?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Personally, i think that RVP has gotten to the point where it was be better for Arsenal to simply let him go. As a gooner, i think Arsene should open talks with Juve rather than ManU.
Have you not read this article properly mate?
THEY’VE GIVEN UP
As a huge Gunner i would love to see RVP stay but i can’t see it. I think Wenger should keep him, yes it may end up being bad business if he walks away next season, however if we chance it and keep him, then go onto win a major trophy then the money we will make from that should out weigh, or at least come close to what we get for selling him now. Keeping him and letting him walk away at the end of his contract won’t be the worst business any club has ever done, i mean after all we only paid around 2 million for his services 8 years ago.
2 million eight years ago. been paying his wages ever since while he was injured most of the time. he finally has a fit season and he tries to cash in and leave after the loyalty they showed.
arsenal should keep him unless they get the 25 million they want. otherwise, keep him and hope he can help us finish top 2 and champions league.
the funny thing is if he doesn’t get a transfer, van persie HAS TO SIGN A CONTRACT WITH ARSENAL. otherwise, he risks getting injured this season and the only suitor he will have when his contract expires won’t offer him anything close to the 130,000 a week arsenal are now
