The England talisman was forced to sit out England’s first two group games of Euro 2012 due to suspension. As expected, England missed the guile and raw talent Rooney has to offer. Now they can breathe a sigh of relief and raise their game to the next level as Roy Hodgson prepares to unleash Rooney on Poland-Ukraine.
There is no doubting that Rooney has failed to deliver in his past two tournament outings with the national side, so all eyes will be on him to see whether or not he can silence his critics and prove that his status as England’s talisman is indeed fitting.

Rooney’s return could not come at a more opportune time.
